Why I’m Doing Project52

Some of you might’ve heard about Project52 already, but for those that have not, here’s a snipped from their site:

Project52 is a personal challenge geared toward getting fresh content on your website. The goal is to write at least 1 new article per week for 1 year. Because we all know what it‘s like to procrastinate on our content. A website is not just a fresh design that can be uploaded to the web and forgotten about!

Ever since the start of this blog and website, I have tried many times to get fresh content up not only to get our name out there, but also to help me in remembering all the things I’ve learned over the years.  I would venture to say that I’ve learned *at least* one thing a week related to my chosen profession — whether that being schooled in how inefficient my code is, how to make a better button, how to make an awesome blogazine by JSMfinding all the treasures in the Amazon by Jared Spool, or even how to think properly about your content by Kristina Halvorson at AEA (ok, the last 3 happened in 2 days). I am using this personal challenge as an attempt to make myself write things down in an orderly fashion.

As 2009 draws to a close, a new year has begun and I have, with renewed energy, going to be participating in Project52 along with about 300 other people. I encourage you to follow along or even participate! There’s a Twitter account, a Google Group and even a hash tag!

Let’s get new content on the web!
